About Us
Pharmaceutics as the field of quantitative aspects of drug delivery implies the design, formulation and evaluation of medicines considering the appropriate dosage form. This field of study also interfaces with human therapeutics, veterinary medicine, biology and chemistry. The department of Pharmaceutics is responsible for teaching pharmacy students at two levels of MPharm and PharmD with a focus on practical and theoretical empowerment of under-graduates. Being involved at different stages of drug development including pre-formulation, design of dosage forms and drug delivery systems for passive or active targeting, microbiological as well as physicochemical examinations besides biopharmacy and pharmacokinetic studies are the regions of research interests for the department. Furthermore, the members try to promote and supply required dosage forms ordered by hospitals and research centers related to Iran University of Medical Sciences. Presently, the department is composed of three members having a genuine approach of creativity and a commitment to proceeding health through newly-discovered knowledge and to make prominent contributions to enhancing the close cooperation with industry. To facilitate this aim, we try to connect with pharmaceutical companies in a wide range of topics inclusive of consultation, formulation, quality control analysis as well as bioequivalency investigations.

Mission and Vision
The division of pharmaceutics is of the opinion to utilize state-of-the-art advancements to conduct students and researchers centered around, not only novel topics but also the applicable themes to meet up with the essentials of patients, upgrade health of society and increase economic productivity for Iranian nationals. The mission of the department is to achieve influential skills in the development of innovative dosage form and drug delivery systems to treat human disorders.  Training next generation of pharmaceutical scientists intertwined with this mission. We wish to provide a promising job placement rate for our graduates positioning as researchers in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotechnology companies in addition to academia or other scientific agencies.
